I ask not of Thee riches and comforts
I ask not of Thee name and fame
I stand meekly at Thy Altar and with folded hands I ask of Thee
The strength to do my duty to the best of my capabilities
To place my duty ahead of my privileges
I ask of Thee the strength to love all and hate none
The knack to be truthful yet not be gullible
The wisdom to speak obligingly if not always oblige
I ask of Thee to shed my shyness yet not lose my self-esteem
To know the difference between Love and Attachment;
Solitude and Loneliness; Self-esteem and Arrogance;
Thou hast conferred this Life upon me;
At one moment it seems to be the best gift Thou hast given me.
But in the next I ask " Why hast Thou cast me away with this cursed Life?"
I ask of Thee the strength to lead an honest life and leave this world with my head held high; Proud of the Love and Grace Thou hast bestowed upon me.
